Short little post for right now. I have been thinking about doing something for the month of May, which is mental health awareness month. As you all know, that is the goal of my blog, to try to raise awareness. Either through my stories, or to find some type of local events.
It is hosted by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). I live in the Philadelphia area, and didn’t think I would find one near me, but I was wrong. I wouldn’t have minded going to New York for the day, which I think I may do too. My walk is going to be on the 5th of May. Only 5 short days away from my birthday.
I know NYC had some dates that were close, or a few days after my birthday. I will have to figure out how to go about that, since I might need to find a place to crash. Hopefully, I can do two walks, which are 5k, by the way.
I will leave a link to my donation page, just in case, y’all would like to support the cause. I set the goal low, not because I don’t think I’ll get it, but because it’s my first time fundraising. Even without being on a team, you need to set a goal.
I am quite excited and nervous about it all! I will be stepping completely out of my comfort zone, but I will be surrounded by like-minded people!!
